Shreveport -- known for casinos and thoroughbred racing -- has a multitude of shopping options for spending those winnings. International visitors to Louisiana encounter another delight -- Louisiana Tax Free Shopping -- from the only state in the U.S. providing a sales tax refund on purchases made at participating stores. "Louisiana Tax Free Shopping" -- not to be confused with "duty free" shops at airport international departure terminals -- is available to international visitors at many well known retailers' manufacturer outlets, and specialty shops statewide. Shreveport's Line Avenue Shopping District translates into a five-mile stretch of antique stores, boutiques, and specialty shops including Toy Fair and Spoiled Rotten Clothing Company. On Airline Drive, Bossier Corners Shopping Center has Old Navy, Office Depot, and Pier 1 Imports. Bayou Walk Shopping Center, adjacent to the Bayou Business Plaza on Youree Drive, houses a Barnes & Noble, Old Navy, Party City and Kroger. Shoppes at Bellemeade, also on Youree, feature Chicos, Coldwater Creek, Talbots and the like.

Southfield Shopping Center, again on Youree, has Paper Shack, Kitchen Works, and Pendley Piano Gallery. Eastgate Shopping Center, anchored by Belk, Marshall's, and Ross, has an Office Depot and smaller specialty shops. Kings Shopping Center features Bombay, World Market, PetSmart, and Linens-N-Things. Pierremont Mall, on Line Avenue, features SteinMart and Semolina's International Pastas. Pierre Bossier Mall, on Texas Street, is anchored by Dillard's, JCPenney, and Sears, with a food court and more. Twin Oaks Squre, on Pierremont Road, houses Couleur Lingerie, Superior Steakhouse, Logan Farms, and more. Mall St. Vincent, on St. Vincent Avenue, features shops from Abercrombie & Fitch and Banana Republic to Gymboree and Hollister. Louisiana Boardwalk, anchored by Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, has outlet shopping, movies, eateries, a carousel and trolley rides. Bargain hunters also head for the Shreve City Shopping Center, with Burlington Coat Factory, Big Lots, and Goodwill.
